Actor and Activist Outline Steps to End the Genocide in Darfur

Prendergast (left) and Cheadle speak to crowds of students and adults about steps to end the genocide in Darfur. Los Angeles, CA - Don Cheadle and John Prendergast spoke about their experiences in Darfur last Thursday, April 26th at the Wilshire Theatre, to more than 1600 community members, teachers and students. The activists discussed strategies to end genocide outlined in their new book, Not on Our Watch: The Mission to End Genocide in Darfur and Beyond. Facing History is grateful to its partners for this event- Amnesty International and Jewish World Watch- and to the many volunteers who made it possible to provide this forum for the community. The event was part of the Community Conversations series presented by Facing History and Ourselves and The Allstate Foundation.

Cheadle and Prendergast also presented their action steps to impressive crowds in San Francisco and Cleveland as part of the Community Conversation series.
